Dave Crowdy (Manager)
Dave had a Successful Playing Career with Newbury Town, Thatcham Town and Marlow. Managed the Theale Sunday side for eleven years, winning the FA Sunday Cup. Had two spells managing Reading Town, becoming Chiltonian League Champions and runners-up in the Combined Counties and Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy. He repeated this feat during his first season in charge of AFCW and will be seeking to go one better this round.
Craig Rutherford (GK)
A good shot stopper and one of the best keepers in the local area. Spent ten years at Peppard, during which time they won the Combined Counties League three times. Joined Wallingford last season after four years at Reading Town.
Phil Wise (D)
A strong right-sided defender who doesn’t turn 18 until March but looks comfortable at this level. Joined AFC Wallingford in 2000 after playing for Sonning Common.
Danny Campbell (D)
Sweeper with good vision. Spent two years at the Portsmouth School of Excellence and two more as a trainee with Oxford United. Spent a year at Basingstoke and another at Reading Town before joining Wallingford last season. Played 51 times in 2000/01 and was voted players’-player-of-the-year.
Paul Hannigan (D/M)
Young defender suited to the wingback role. A product of the AFC Wallingford youth side, he stepped up to the senior side in 1999 and quickly became a regular.
Gary Stevens (D)
Top class central defender. Started out as a goalkeeping trainee with QPR. A former professional with Crystal Palace and Huddersfield. He spent eight seasons at Reading Town and was club captain. Joined Wallingford in 1999 and recently made his 100th appearance.
James Murray (D)
Experienced central defender or full-back who won Combined Counties honours during a spell at Peppard. Joined AFC Wallingford last season and was instrumental in improving the fortunes of the reserve side, resulting in a Player-of-the-year award. Filled in competently when required by the First-Team and is sure to do so again this time round.
Andy Parr (M)
Experienced midfield player with good vision and passing ability. A professional with West Ham, Reading and Aldershot, he has also played for Kingstonian and Woking. Joined from Reading Town in 1999 and has played over 100 games for AFC Wallingford.
Barry Primmer (M)
A local lad with plenty of ability and heart, and a good turn of pace. He is a good crosser of the ball and is comfortable playing in just about any position. The longest serving member of the squad, he has played for Wallingford since 1995 and, despite several lengthy absences through injury, has played nearly 200 games, scored 65 goals and been selected as Player-of-the-Year in 1998 and 2001.
Daniel Stevens (M)
Signed this season from Hungerford Town. Daniel has quickly established himself as a regular in the team. Most effective wide on the right-hand side, his crosses have been of a consistently high quality.
Peter Bryan (D/F)
A quality central defender who is equaly capable up front. Spent his junior years with Henley Town before spending five seasons at Reading Town. Joined Wallingford last season and scored 20 times whether in central defence or up front.
Andy Shildrick (A)
A strong striker who scored 100 goals in 100 games during three seasons at Peppard. Spent three years at Thame United after a £5000 transfer before joining Marlow for two seasons. Out of senior football through injury for eighteen months, he gradually regained his fitness at AFC Wallingford last season scoring 14 goals.
Michael Mulvaney (A)
Hard working front runner who sets up as many as he scores. Joined AFC Wallingford last season after spells at various clubs including Bracknell Town and Wokingham and scored 20 goals.
James McKinney (M)
Only 19 but already rated as one of the best central midfielders at this level. Joined AFC Wallingford mid-way through last season from Reading Town and made an immediate impact as a talented passer and dribbler.
Dave Green (D/M)
Joined AFC Wallingford towards the end of last season and soon established himself as a key member of the first team squad. He is equally adept in central defence or midfield and is renowned for his aerial ability, strong running and tackling.
Lukea Rizkalla (A)
Promising young forward with bags of pace and enthusiasm. Successfully grounded in the reserves last season he will be looking to establish a place in the first team during 2001/02
Chris Allum (M/A)
A strong front player who holds the ball up well. Another product of the Wallingford Youth side, he has been playing for AFC Wallingford for three years and continues to improve.
