From the minutes of the 35th Annual General Meeting held on 7th June 1988

Constitution of League
Premier Division
Abingdon Town are leaving the league. Thame United have resigned. (not yet authorised) It was proposed Abingdon United, seconded by Viking sports and agreed that the Premier Division constitute 17 Clubs next season which gives two vacancies. Pegasus Juniors and Wallingford Town applied for re-election and Almondsbury Picksons and Cirencester Town applied for promotion.
A ballot showed that Pegasus Juniors and Wallingford Town be re-elected to the Premier Division.
Wantage Town and Kintbury Rangers are promoted from Division 1.
